The Beginning of Spring

Every year the first thing to bloom at our house is our incredible Japanese Magnolia. I'm in awe of the beauty every year. Once the tree drops its petals soft green leaves come in and the rest of the city becomes awash in Spring.
The tree is estimated to be as old as our house, so about 88 years old. According to our landscaper, "the best specimen he's seen in Houston". :)
People stop to take pictures, we really love that people enjoy our tree as much as we do. A group of little girls stopped the other day to gather all of the petals. The magic of nature.
